Although this picture is described as showing WDB I am pretty sure David got it from the Portrait Gallery and rejected it. He thought the man (presumably bottom left) looks too young and must be a different Captain Brind. Although the National Portrait Gallery caption looks like it is left to right, the woman has two male names after hers and no logical sequence works explains that. Brind was in London in April 1839. His next voyage started on May 6, 1839.
